Vineyards: The grapes come from 3 plots in Samaniego and Leza, within a 4 km radius from the winery, at 580 metres above sea level.Combination of poor calcareous/clay soil and stones, on south facing slopes. The subsoil is made up of various layers of white rock.

Climate: Mediterranean climate with a strong Atlantic influence.Extreme winter-summer contrasts

The vineyards: 100% Tempranillo
Age of vines: Between 54 and 80 years old.
Density of plants: 3500 vines per hectare. Goblet pruning.
Production:  3.200 Kg/hectare. Hand harvested in 15 Kg boxes, on 4th  October.

Wine-making Process: Vineyard grape selection, only the best grapes are taken to the winery. Light destemming process to avoid damaging the grapes. Pre-fermentation cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation in small capacity vats for 18 days at a maximum temperature of  29ºC. Reworkings and breaking up the cap as appropriate during the fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak casks.

Volatile acidity: 0.56 g/l.

Production: 6,514 bottles (75 cl.) and 148 magnum (150 cl.)
