February brings us closer to home.
Meals feel more intimate, more relaxed. We’re not waiting for big celebrations, but for moments that deserve attention: a table set with care, a recipe we know works, a conversation that stretches without checking the time.

At Ostatu, we’ve always believed that welcoming well isn’t about doing more, but about doing things with care—with intention. Thinking about who will sit at the table, what we’ll share, and how we want that moment to feel. Wine is part of that gesture. And when it’s well chosen, it accompanies without imposing.

That sense of natural balance doesn’t begin in the bottle.
It begins earlier—in the vineyard.

From Vineyard to Table

Some wines fit especially well into this way of understanding the table.
Menditto de Ostatu is one of them.

Menditto comes from several small, old plots in the eastern part of Samaniego, our village in Rioja Alavesa. Vineyards that share character, soil, and varieties, expressing themselves with elegance in the glass: a balance between Tempranillo and Graciano, with freshness and a vibrant acidity that keeps the wine alive.

Menditto doesn’t overwhelm.
It doesn’t distract.
It simply accompanies.

A Wine Made for Sharing

Maybe that’s why it works so well when people gather around the table.
Because it’s a wine that speaks for itself.

It’s appreciated by those who know wine deeply—and equally by those who simply want to enjoy a good meal without overthinking it.

For us, welcoming well begins long before the table is set.
It starts in how the vineyard is cared for, and in the intention behind how the wine is made.

After that, all that’s left is to open the bottle…
and let the table do the rest.

Cheers.
