Single Vineyard wines

Selección is an emblematic wine for us. It was the first wine that we began to age in barrels and the one that took our production identity to a different profile from the usual Rioja wines.

With this wine we wanted to mark our style: grapes from old vineyards, well matured, with freshness. This led us to look for the Graciano coupage, where the good wood is present but does not take away the prominence of fresh and seasoned fruit. All this with the character coming from a clayey soil that gives volume in the mouth and fills the palate with nuances.

Grape variety: 92% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano

Wine-Making

Vineyard grape selection, only the best grapes, with the best health and ripening parameters, are taken to the winery.
Light destemming process to avoid damaging the grapes. Cold pre-fermentative maceration.
Alcoholic fermentation in small oak vats for 18 days at a maximum temperature of 27°C.
Reworking and breaking up the cap as appropriate during the fermentation.
70% malolactic fermentation in new French oak casks and 14 months cask ageing in new and second use’s ones.
This wine does not undergo any stabilisation process.

Wine-Making

Intense cherry color with dark purple reflections.
Intense and honest aroma, red fruits of enormous expression and typicality, with a creamy background of good oak, notes of spices, and a slight mineral touch.
On the palate, it is fresh, broad, and meaty, with a very good predominance of the fruit. Firm and round tannins, with a sweet touch, fine toasted notes with a good structure, typical of clayey soil.
Great personality of Tempranillo with a good point of acidity and freshness.
